Building on Akash blockchain

Building on Akash blockchain

At Flintolabs, we don’t just welcome interns. We challenge them to push boundaries, dive deep into complex systems, and contribute to the future of work.

🚀 Reimagining Work:

This summer, Tanish Pai, a rising senior from North Carolina, joined us with a mission: to explore the Akash blockchain and its potential to power a more equitable digital economy.

🌐 Why Akash Blockchain?

Let’s face it. Income inequality is accelerating at an alarming rate. Corporations increasingly lean on AI-driven “efficiency” to justify mass layoffs, sidelining human creativity and ownership in the process.

At Flintolabs, we’re building something different.

We’re designing a reimagined work platform:

  • Where every contributor is an owner
  • Where creativity is the currency
  • Where rewards are distributed fairly, based on actual work, not hierarchy

This isn’t a simple tweak to the status quo. It’s a radical rethinking of how digital labor, creativity, and compensation intersect.

Tanish’s Journey with Flintolabs: From Student to Research Intern

Tanish previously completed the Flintolabs Innovator track and researched Akash blockchain as an intern.

Here is a bit about Tanish's journey with Flintolabs in his own words:

"This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to take a deep dive into the worlds of Blockchain, decentralized AI and cryptocurrency as a research intern with Flintolabs. Through my research, I aimed to answer the “nitty gritty” questions regarding various aspects of the emerging crypto market and various blockchain platforms that are beginning to emerge.

My journey with Flintolabs begun in Fall 2024, when I participated in their “Innovator Track” program. It was there where I learned to interpose entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence to benefit creators as well as consumers. The program taught me a step-by-step process for generating, refining and launching an entrepreneurial venture. In parallel, I gained valuable insight about the behind-the-scenes that every entrepreneur needs to know. In the end, I created a prototype for a project that accurately compared the prices of cars, including hidden fees, for an easier purchasing process for consumers.

After my success in the course, I was invited to intern with the company. Throughout the 7 weeks I interned with FlintoLabs, I took a deep dive into researching a Decentralized Platform called the Akash Blockchain as well as looking into various mysteries regarding cryptocurrency. From discovering the pros and cons of decentralized platforms to understanding exactly how value is created in the cryptocurrency market, I learned so much about this niche and rapidly growing and evolving industry.

My experiences with Flintolabs have been truly invaluable. They have given me an amazing chance to learn about our future which, in parallel, has fueled my love for finance and entrepreneurship even more. I am extremely grateful to Ms.Janani and Ms.Ayesha for this opportunity and the guidance and mentoring that they have provided to me throughout this entire process. I would highly recommend the “Innovator Track” program to anyone who is interested in entrepreneurship and AI. It helped me get a foothold in something i’m really interested in and it opened doors for me, including this internship with FlintoLabs."

🔍 His Research: Decentralization in Action

As part of this ambitious vision for his internship, Tanish investigated the Akash blockchain, a decentralized cloud computing network that allows individuals to run applications without relying on centralized tech giants.

Why does this matter?

Because Akash flips the script. Instead of consolidating power in a few corporations, it enables individuals to contribute resources, earn rewards, and participate in a permissionless ecosystem. It’s a model that aligns with our values: ownership, fairness, and human-centric innovation.

💡 What’s Next?

Tanish’s work is just one piece of a larger puzzle. At Flintolabs, we’re continuing to explore how decentralized technologies like Akash can support a future where work is collaborative, creative, and equitably rewarded.

We’re proud of the bold thinking our interns bring. And we’re even more excited about the future they’re helping us build.

Below is Tanish's research on the topic.
